RevlX beacons have a 2-3 year operational life. Look here to learn how to change the batteries.
Tools and parts.
- Large phillips head screwdriver #4
- Small phillips head screwdriver #2
- 8 D-Cell batteries. We recommend using name brand batteries with recent purchase/manufacture dates.
- First determine if the beacon batteries need to be replaced using this guide.
- Locate the beacon in question. See this page to learn more about identifying beacons and antennas.
- Open the beacon housing using a large phillips head screwdriver. The beacon body will be attached to the housing lid.
- If needed, you can remove the beacon antenna connection to gain more movement.
- Using a smaller phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws on the side of the beacon body. This will release the beacon body from the housing lid.
- Remove the four screws on the back of the beacon housing. This will allow the beacon to open and reveal 8 D-cell batteries.
- Replace all 8 batteries and reverse order to reassemble.
