      Which GoPro cameras and settings are supported by the Revl Uploaders?

      The Revl uploader allows the Revl server to ingest footage from GoPro cameras. Use this guide to determine the correct settings for your GoPro cameras.

      In general we support the use of the following things:

      • SD Cards - The SD cards are manually removed from the camera and inserted into the Revl Uploader. It should be noted that we only support the FAT32 and exFAT file systems.
      • Docking - The camera is plugged directly into the Revl Uploader. It should be noted that when using the docking feature we are not restricted to FAT32 and exFAT. Any SD card that the camera can handle can be used.
      • Button Taps - The times when the user pressed the button on the side of the camera while recording. Often used to indicate the start/end of something important, or pressed 3 times consecutively, to flag footage for review.

        It is recommended that all GoPro be on the latest firmware, but specifically the GoPro HERO 11 must have firmware v2.01 or newer.

        Resolution and Frame Rate Restrictions

        Our system requires the use of the low-resolution video (LRV), so the GoPro cameras must be in a setting that will produce the LRV file. Not all settings will produce the LRV. Presumably when the hardware needs all of its resources to produce the hi-performance MP4 file and does not have enough bandwidth also to produce the LRV. We summarize the resolution and frame rate restrictions for each camera tasted below. If the field is blank, then that means the resolution/frame rate combination is not one the camera can record.
